Openings in Robotics with RAM-Lab
Robotics and Multiperception (RAM) Lab seeks PhD student candidates to be enrolled in coming Fall semester. For HKPFS applicant, please submit your application before December for the enrollment of next year. We focus on the overarching theme of autonomous mobile robotics, which includes visual navigation, 3D mapping and navigation, machine learning, computer vision, networked robots and multisensor fusion and calibration. RAM Lab is part of ECE Department, CSE Department and Robotics Institute of Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST).
The following, but not limited to, research topics are open:
- Deep reinforcement learning for robotics
- Autonomous Driving
- SLAM, vSLAM
- Extensive application by sophisticated sensors (e.g. Google Tango)
- Highly automated driving system for low-speed hybrid traffic situations
- Medical Imaging processing
- Networked Robots
- Educational robots
- UAV navigation and state-estimation
- Mobile manipulator

Considering the high competence, for prospective PG students or TA or Internship, please send me your sample C/C++ code segments and/or your github account. Besides, please write me a self introduction. It should include your personal highlights and interested research topics, better with a brief research proposal within two-pages.
For Post-doc applicants, you are expected to have published in relevant venues, such as TRO, IJRR, TCY-B, T-MECH, TASE, JFR, RAS, AURO, IROS, ICRA, RSS, CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, NIPS, or multiple publications in IJARS, RCAR, ICVS, ROBIO, MFI, CYBER, ICAR, etc.
